The Jane Goodall Institute – Chimpanzee Eden Sanctuary, is the only chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa, set on a 1000-hectare game reserve. The sanctuary lies within the tranquil bush settings of Umhloti Nature Reserve, in the de Kaap Valley Mountains, and has become a refugee home and rescued chimpanzees who have survived the ordeal of hunting attempts. See our closest human relative in semi-wild settings with foraging areas which add to the primates’ behavioral enrichment.
